Astoria Seefeld

Tyrol, Austria

Originally a grand old hotel done up in the tradition of Europe’s swishest ski resorts, today's interiors by Pierre-Yves Rochon – the design supremo behind Paris's Four Seasons George V refurbishment – are much more contemporary. The overall theme is deluxe alpine; it feels like a millionaire’s log cabin, with light wood paneling, animal skin rugs and antlers’ horns peppered throughout. The mountain views are arguably the hotel’s most impressive feature. The alpine cabin feel runs throughout the 84 rooms with wooden-paneling, smart mirrors and soft furnishing in large navy or red checks. All the rooms are decently sized with comfortable beds, and bathrooms boasts marble-surrounds.
