Casa Andina Premium

Arequipa, Peru

Located just 5 minutes from the Plaza de Armas of Arequipa. A unique hotel made from ashlar and 225 years old. It was the National Mint for 6 years between 1937 and 1943, it still preserves murals in gold leaf and paintings from the republican era and has colonial rooms. In 2019, it was recognized as a cultural heritage by UNESCO, obtaining the blue shield, a symbol that allows visitors to know its history through a QR code. In addition to the amazing history of this hotel, here you can enjoy a delicious breakfast and a varied menu at Alma Restaurant & Bar. A major refurbishment in 2008 unearthed frescoes, reliefs, and a chapel. The lobby, public areas, and restaurant are opulent, and at the heart of the hotel is a beautiful arcaded inner courtyard with cushioned seating all around. A fourth-floor terrace has views of the cathedral and the (usually smoking) Misti volcano.
