Dome Hotel and Spa is an outstanding boutique hotel in the heart of Riga’s UNESCO-listed old town center, with masses of character, and a phenomenally good restaurant which is a destination in itself. There is simply no better place to stay in the Latvian capital. The hotel is located on a quiet, narrow cobbled street in Riga’s atmospheric old town, just two minutes' walk from the cathedral – the guestrooms and terrace restaurant offer a variety of secluded views of its spire. It’s just a few minutes' walk to the city’s many bars, museums and galleries, and a 15-minute walk to one of the greatest concentrations of Art Nouveau buildings anywhere in the world. The Dome is a luxurious and supremely stylish boutique hotel with plenty of period features – think restored 18th-century ceiling paintings, and a massive, original 18th-century wooden staircase – alongside slick modern designer touches, and simply bags of charm. The lower floors date back to the medieval period, the upper floors were extended in the 1700s. It was beautifully restored and converted into a hotel between 2002 and 2009, by Latvian architects, using local materials. The Dome is the only Relais & Chateaux member in Latvia.
