Hartland Estate

Ubud, Indonesia

Carefully crafted around its natural environs high on the jungle-clad Sayan Ridge, Hartland Estate is a breathtaking 5-bedroom villa just outside Bali’s cultural capital of Ubud. Each aspect of the villa was designed to integrate seamlessly with its spectacular surroundings from the traditional Javanese-style suites constructed from reclaimed teak wood to the salt water infinity pool fed from a natural spring, and the vast decks offering incredible views of rice paddies, the river valley, and distant mountain peaks. This is a true hidden gem for those looking to immerse themselves in Bali’s beauty. Much thought went into designing the property, as the owner wanted to ensure that the villa was not only a luxurious hideaway, but that it also exhibited a healthy respect for and oneness with the environment. Thus, he used buried teak logs to custom-build the gorgeous wooden suites and furniture, natural stone in the beautiful bathrooms, and living plants and trees for fencing. The open-plan design allows for breezy natural ventilation, and the 26-metre infinity pool is naturally warmed by the sun. The result is a glorious garden sanctuary in sync with nature, yet also offering the utmost comfort and contemporary conveniences.
