Katalin Nagy-Takio

Katalin (Kat) has been in the travel and hospitality industry for about 20 years. Her passions include serving others and exploring new cultures.

Kat moved to the US in 1998 to take care of her grandfather and started her university education in Hospitality Management. Upon graduating UCF (go Knights!) she was hired by The Ritz-Carlton, Orlando Grande Lakes and worked for Marriott International for over 16 years in various roles including weddings, catering, restaurant sales and corporate account management.

Kat is an advocate for diversity and inclusion and served as a Vice-Chair for Marriott’s LGBTQ employee resource group in Orlando. She has also earned an Introductory Sommelier status and loves sipping a nice glass of wine with good friends! In her free time she and her husband volunteer at Give Kids the World.
Kat resides in Clermont, Florida with her husband, Dale and their two yorkies: Lizzy and Lola.

In which city did you grow up?

Szarvas, Hungary

What was the first country you ever visited (outside of your own) and how old were you?

Croatia at the age of 9. My parents used to take us every year to the Adriatic Sea with an RV

What’s the one travel tip that you always share with all your friends/guests?

Be open minded! Travel often gets us out of our comfort zone, but the experiments change us and leave us with memories for a lifetime.

What has been your most spiritual travel experience?

Our family reunion in Maui. I travelled with the closest family members and realized that our ohana was the most important bond I can ever have in this world.

What’s the most adventurous travel experience you’ve ever had?

Italy by far was my favorite, from truffle hunting in Umbria, having midnight gelatos in Rome to trying to park in Positano
