Behind the lens: Africa, by Art In Voyage

Art In Voyage takes you Beyond Travel on this Culinary Journey of South Africa. Did you know that the country boasts one of the best cuisines and wines in the world? On this culinary journey, both our Executive Chef Kevin Fonzo and our Wine Expert, Katie Barratt (Wine Fairy) take you on a true feast of the senses. In Cape Town, we have designed a balanced program of culture, history, and culinary delights. The melting pot of cultures in Cape Town has culminated into a flavorful and diverse food scene, for your pleasure.

Cape Town, Always First

Visualize forests dappled with burbling streams, and lofty trees. Your Art In Voyage hosts share with you their hidden-gem discoveries around Cape Town as well as the more known of must-sees such as colorful Bo Kaap and the majestic Table Mountain.

The Big Five, Of Course

Roaming in one area, you will spot an incredible variety of wildlife. Hamiltons Tented Camp is a special well-kept secret in the Mluwati concession in Kruger National Park; offering you a colonial style safari experience within luxurious tented lodgings.

This romantic Kruger Park camp accommodates couples in 6 magnificently appointed safari tents overlooking the N'watswitsonto River. The main tent is an impressive structure. Elegant lines and an open sided lounge and dining area opening onto a wide, spacious deck shaded by huge Jackalberry trees overlooking the dry river bed. It is comfortably furnished and accentuated with antiques and 19th century objects d'art, creating a feeling of having traveled back in time.

Arguably one of the main attractions of this location is the prevalence of Africa’s “Big Five”. The highlight of your stay will undoubtedly be the guided Safari drives where the local ranger will introduce you to a selection of wildlife and birdlife that call this area home. On these informative excursions, you will be exposed to animals such as lions, giraffes, leopards and hyenas in their natural habitat and be afforded the opportunity to capture these moments from only meters away!

Being completely remote and far away from the crowds, this is the one place where you can get away from it all with a total sense of tranquility.

Everything was 5 stars… accommodations, food, excursions & the hosting people throughout our entire travels. This was a journey of a lifetime in the most comfortable, fun, educational & a-a-amazing fashion. This was our first journey with Art In Voyage and will not be our last. We plan on filling up some travels with more family & friends. I never thought I would enjoy a “group” travel, but being small & intimate was absolutely perfect, meeting some new forever friends. Thank you, thank you, Mikael!! XOXO
